My dad is pretty dignified. He worked in shipping and receiving or other blue collar type work and he usually wore a tie and sport coat. Co-workers came to him with their troubles because they knew he was 'religious and sensible and treated people well'.
My oldest son is very much like his Granddad, a dignified man.
So when they get silly or rowdy it is noteworthy.
Now growing up we always had this replica of a Greek theater mask in our living room. It frightened us, and our friends, as children. My dad loves this thing. Apparently when my sister-in-law, Kari, was there with the camera and my mom was out of the room (anyone married to a sensible Dutch woman will understand why he waited till she left the room) he had her take this picture.

I bet he always wanted to make that face.
Then we noticed our dignified son, Kevin, had a similar expression.

This was after the final act in The Winters Tale when the characters had all aged.

So... a little eccentricity just might run in the family.
