It's always beautiful and always amazing that these kids can sing serious sacred music. It is the highlight of the Advent season for me. At the end of the concert, the alumni present are invited up to join their old schola for Handel's Alleluia chorus. Every one of my kids was up there except Lydia.
Although she has graduated, Monica sings in the Santa Cecelia Schola because she loves to sing. This picture is a bit amusing in several ways. I was holding a friend's baby when I went up front to take pictures. The baby's big sister, Mary, is looking at me, probably wondering why I have their baby. That empty space next to Mary? That's where Regina should have been. And she still was, but sitting down as she had gotten woozy back there and came close to passing out. Sometimes Mrs. Campbell moves the kids around to strengthen different sections, so I just thought she had moved for the Alleluia. There I was, happily snapping pictures not knowing she had sunk down on the step. (She was fine and Monica was right there and keeping an eye on her.)
The concert was beautiful and the reception was fun and lively as all St. A's events are.
