We were very excited that lower Michigan was getting an aquarium. A field trip was booked immediately. (By a more organized mom than myself.) We met up with several families for the morning event. I think we all decided it was fun, but there was too much sensory overload for real learning to happen. It was more of an edutainment experience. Small, dark spaces, flashing lights, echoing, excited children and a constant stream of music and nautical sounds. Still it was fun and we can use some of what we saw as a learning 'peg' on which to hang future information.
