I always wanted a milk goat. It seems so Tasha Tudorish. We are caring for one at our house for a few weeks. Her name is Cordelia, and she is sweet, easy and quite social.
But I'm not ready for a goat. We live too far away from most things to make the milking commitment work for us. Her owners live a few minutes from most of their activities. They could leave to milk and come back to their function. I'm glad for the chance to realize that before we made the leap to buying our own goat.
In the meantime, we are enjoying playing dairy farmer. The cats are loving it too!
Monica is doing most of the goat chores. She can milk faster and get more milk than I can.
The chickens are little thieves, trying to get the goat feed.
Chasing them away.
Dom isn't sure.
My children were begging for one the other day, and I said, "What? In suburbia?" So I am showing them these lovely photos!
