You just can't live in the boonies and not have a generator. When you lose power, you lose water. And it happens at least a few times a summer. But we don't have a generator yet. Usually we muddle through and the power is only out about half a day.
This time a train roared through with wind and rain, funnel clouds sighted and a fury, like I have never seen. We lost power for 48 hours, the tops of huge trees, the contents of our indoor freezer and fridge, one chicken (a Rhode Island Red). The trampoline was blown into the play structure causing enough damage to make it unsafe.
Thanks be to God, we are all safe and the house is undamaged. And Kevin got to buy a nifty new chain saw. As for me, I cannot wait to scrub those children clean!
I'm glad to hear everyone was okay. 48 hours is a long time without power and water! My parents' home had the same set-up, and we dreaded power outtages.
And I love the contrast of Kevin's view of events. LOL!

WOW!! We heard things were a bit worse to the north, we battened down the hatches and only got a sprinkle! Glad all is better now and you were all safe!
