Dominic enters the house with a bang of the door and bellows for "MOM!" primarily to find out where I am and also because he expects my availability at all times. He bellows from the far reaches of the yard and house so that I may come running to observe his skill in climbing/building/ball playing/sword fighting and wild animal catching. He greatly admires his own body and expects me to as well. He confidently assumes he can take on anyone, even a twelve year old, and emerge the victor.
So, I am just writing up my apology now. Dominic is not even four yet. There is still time to civilize him. But the raw material indicates that he will be loud, demanding and larger than life.
HOWEVER, along with those traits, goes a heart of gold, a hard worker and an indomitable, cheerful and affectionate nature.
My dear girl, my dear daughter-in-law-who-I-will-love-someday, you are in for a grand adventure! But let me apologize now for when Dominic walks into your home and bellows 'Woman of the house...!', John Wayne style.
I love your stories about Dominic! I have a few boys here that resemble that remark...LOL!

LOL! I have a son who sounds eerily similar to Dominic!

That cracked me up... mostly because this too is a warning I shall need to give any future daughter in-law for our middle son (well all three really, but most especially the middle one).
Thanks for the laugh!
