We had a bunch of extra kids here after Vacation Bible School, yesterday. They were having great sword battles across the front yard. I was sitting on the porch rocking a toddler. We heard the wail of an emergency vehicle siren as it sped down the road. One of the kids yelled "Siren!" All the kids stopped their play, prayed that sweet, simple prayer, the Hail Mary, for whoever needed help, and went back to their game.
I was so moved to realize how natural it was to all of them. No self consciousness. Just simple faith, hope and love. Good kids... good kids...
Wow! How you must've felt to see that.
