I have outpatient surgery this afternoon. Nothing major. But any surgery and recovery is not fun. And you know the family's recovery from mom's recovery, as in piles of laundry and needy children, is a challenge as well.
I had to use some of our precious gas to make another trip to the store because the peach ice cream I got for today... is girly. Yes, dad and the boys requested manly ice cream. Ice cream with nuts and chocolate and chunks of stuff. Thats manly ice cream. I'm such a girl, I didn't even know.
that the power always goes out when the sinks and counters are full of dirty dishes, everyone is grubby from working and playing outside and the last thing the adults and older kids did was catch chickens to put them in the coop before the storm hit?
Thank goodness for diaper wipes. They are to women what duct tape is to men.
Over the years, our Blessed Mother in heaven has become more and more important to me. And I have been so blessed with an excellent earthly mother. God has surrounded me with sisters, sisters-in-law, and friends (online and IRL) who are such awesome models of loving, dedicated mothers.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you, I am so grateful to be able to learn from such lovely women !
Kevin Joseph 'Patrick' received the Sacrament of Confirmation tonight. His forehead smells of the holy chrism as it did on his baptism.
In his thank you letter to Fr. O., Kevin wrote, I am glad to be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation and the strength it will give me. I hope to gain the knowledge to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit wisely.
Our bishop has been ill so he sent Rev. Fr. O. to do Confirmations.

Thank you for being a good example of a Christian man to my son!
