Last Friday night, in between sick children, we 'hired' our trusty babysitter, the ONLY person, I could leave my sick children with, and went out.
We had been looking forward to this night for a while. Besides the fact that we got to dress up a little and enjoy the company of some great friends at a fabulous facility , we were so privileged to attend the benefit dinner for the Saints Peter and Paul Educational Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to establish the College of Saints Peter and Paul in Michigan.
The keynote address was given by His Excellency, Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska. What a delightful, brilliant, holy man! His support, and that of the other bishops and priests in attendance that evening, will be instrumental in the formation of the college.
Dr. Henry Russell, president of the foundation, says this, "...we have a duty to teach that truth comprehended by reason and the eternal truths of our faith are in perfect harmony."
Clearly, this will be a stellar, Catholic college. We earnestly pray for the success of the College of Saints Peter and Paul.
