Until spring does come, I think I'll remove all pictures and mirrors from the walls. I'll pack away my only TWO knick knacks in the living room, Sacred and Immaculate Heart statues. While I'm at it I'll remove all the furniture and replace them with big, comfy pillows all around the perimeters of the rooms. That way we won't have to sit on the floor and there will be some protection for the bodies and heads that go flying into the walls during the many soccer, football and basketball games that break out in the living area.
We had three black eyes in one week here. (To say nothing of the injuries incurred while playing basketball in an actual game.) The children need to be outside where there is room to work off the energy. Maybe they can invent a new game; 'Frosty Football'. Maybe we'll move to Texas. Maybe they'll sit and twiddle their thumbs for the rest of winter. Maybe spring will come soon.
I'm with you! Mary Beth has a black eye. Stephen has a bruised back. Nicholas hit a great shot at basketball today. Then another and another. When one of the dads asked how he'd been practicing with all the ice around, he told him he'd been shooting on the hoop they rigged in the family room!

I sure hope it comes soon! The twiddling their thumbs definitely won't happen.

Texas is a GREAT answer to your troubles! I sometimes start to remember what that was like and quickly thank God for Texas! Honestly, after almost 11 years in Texas I have taken the weather for granted. You quickly(3years for me) get used to the heat (which is a good thing, because we got plenty) then enjoy.
