Suzanne at Gladdest Hours, posting about Fires in the Fall,
shared her husband Pete's recent firepit project. It's totally awesome
and now I'm inspired to upgrade our backyard firepit!
While
it's functional, our pit needs some improvements. For years, I've
wanted to place some large rocks around the outside of the ring, but
the brick pavers are an excellent addition.
Our Fire Pit, is a wonderful place to make Simple S'mores or Banana Boats
and once the children have gone to bed, a restful spot to smoke a cigar
and watch deer shadows eating apples from under the trees in the dark.
Here's to "firepit camaraderie.” Nice job, Pete!

Hi Kevin.
Thanks for your kind words in regards to our fire pit. It was a lot of fun making. It did take longer to make than I had initially projected. There was an awful lot of dirt to remove ad a rather large rock that ended up breaking 3 sledge hammer handles to bring down to size. Still, don't let this stop you! The project was fun and the time with the family together around the fire is priceless.
Good luck. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Pete
